I'm Jane Asher and I'm glad you're here. I have been a communicator and connector who has had an fun career in media and the music industry, most notably at radio stations in San Diego and Santa Barbara, and Virgin Records based out of Chicago.
My beautiful mother died and transitioned to the afterlife in 2010. In a quest to understand my wild untamed grief, and what comes after we die, I developed The Next Room podcast. I interview professionals and practitioners from diverse backgrounds about death, dying, grief, beliefs on the afterlife, and cultural traditions surrounding the journey we all must ultimately make. The show is available everywhere you find your favorite podcasts.
Our book, "The Next Room" is my story about the deep abiding bond I have with my mother that grew stronger through her death. We wrote it together, initially enlisting assistance through with a medium. Our story will take you on my journey as I learn eternal life lessons on grief, grace, gratitude, forgiveness, and the limitless love of all, God.
I was born and raised in the Thumb of Michigan in the Village of Deckerville, which is just a stones throw away from the magnificent Lake Huron. I grew up sleeping under the stars in the summertime, and learned to drive in the corn field behind my childhood home while listening to Bob Seger. My lifelong love affair with music blossomed into a career that has afforded me the great privilege of meeting and interviewing some of the most influential rock & roll artists on the planet. I recently returned to my Michigan musical roots as a midday host on the streaming app
The Sonic Coast.
I reside in beautiful San Diego with my husband, Tom and rescue dog Mamba. I am answering my passion-filled purpose by writing, recording my podcast, and of course, playing music daily.
